21 Jessica Simpson


With her golden hair and golden voice, Jessica Simpson has gained a great deal of success and fame in less than 10 years in the music business. With three gold and two multiplatinum records, she has risen to the top echelon of female pop singers in North America and the world. Jessica has also dabbled in acting, with roles in the silver-screen remake of The Dukes of Hazzard (2005) and her reality TV show with ex-husband and former 98 Degrees singer Nick Lachey. Simpson is also widely known for keeping her virginity until marriage and being the older sister of singer Ashlee Simpson.


After her divorce from Lachey was finalized on June 30th, Simpson was free to find love again. Many rumors had her involved with singer John Mayer and actor/comedian Dane Cook, but she never confirmed them. She also released her fourth album, A Public Affair, in August. The fact that she took most of 2006 to fully separate herself from her marriage and the media scrutiny surrounding it might explain why she ranked lower on the list this year. However, she did step into the spotlight in the film Employee of the Month with the aforementioned Dane Cook.


Work continues on her latest film, Blonde Ambition, which costars Luke Wilson and is due for release in mid-2007. Jessica will also be hard at work promoting A Public Affair, which will see its UK release in early February. After that, she will be back in America to hype her next single, and then it will be all about touring, although details are still in the works and nothing has been announced yet.
