Mendes has risen to near A-list status thanks to bit parts in music videos, like Will Smith’s "Miami," and supporting roles in blockbuster movies, like Exit Wounds (2001), 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003), and Training Day (2001) with Denzel Washington. In 2005, she achieved her most high-profile work to date as the romantic lead in Hitch opposite Will Smith, again. She has also been one of the many gorgeous faces of Revlon, along with other big-name celebrities like Halle Berry and Julianne Moore.

Mendes took a 21-point drop on the Top 99, from No. 24 in 2006 to No. 45, for a good reason: She was apparently on a bit of a break. Actually, she was filming a few movies, but they were slated for future release. One of these projects is called Live!, for which she is also the executive producer.

For Eva, 2007 means three movies. Firstly, she is starring in the highly anticipated Ghost Rider with Nicolas Cage, which will hit theaters in mid-February. Secondly, Mendes will also be seen next to Joaquin Phoenix, Mark Wahlberg and Robert Duvall in We Own the Night, a film about a nightclub manager in New York trying to protect his family from the Russian mob. Finally, Mendes will be seen in Live!, a mockumentary about a controversial reality TV show. Apart from movies, Eva will also be on the cover of Maxim magazine in February.
