Though you may not recognize her name, Caterina Murino has one of those faces that’s almost impossible to forget. Caterina’s appeared in a wealth of advertisements for such companies as Mercedes-Benz, MasterCard and Swatch, and she placed fourth at the 1996 Miss Italy Pageant. Caterina made her film debut in 2002 with a made-for-German-TV production, and has since appeared in over a dozen movies and television shows. Caterina could also be seen playing one of the sexy Bond girls in the recent 007 flick, Casino Royale; making a lasting impression on audiences worldwide in the process.

Caterina’s most high-profile endeavor in 2006 was her small but pivotal role in Casino Royale. Cast as a character named Solange, Caterina played most of her scenes opposite James Bond himself, Daniel Craig, and even got to participate in a steamy love scene with the secret agent. Caterina also appeared on a television show produced for Spanish TV called Vientos de agua, as well as a French comedy entitled Les Bronzes 3: Friends Forever. This marks Caterina’s first appearance on this list, and -- judging from the ease with which she held her own opposite Craig -- there’s little doubt that she’s earned her place.

Although Caterina doesn't seem to have anything on her plate for 2007, she’s certainly hard at work to ensure that Casino Royale doesn’t mark the peak of her career. Caterina’s sundry duties for the film will continue to take her all around the world, and she is wisely using her increased notoriety as a means of pursuing other promotional avenues, like magazine covers and commercials. At any rate, Caterina is destined to remain a fixture among both contemporary and future film fans for her work in Casino Royale.
