26 Tyra Banks

Tyra Banks is a supermodel in the truest sense of the word; discovered at age 17, she became the first black woman to grace the covers of GQ and the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. Known for her voluptuous figure, her profile also grew from her work with Victoria’s Secret fashion catalogs. She took her success in that arena and parlayed it into a popular reality TV show, America’s Next Top Model, which is now in its seventh season on The CW network.

After spending last year at No. 89, Tyra is ranked at an impressive No. 26 this year. This boost is mostly due to her working double duty throughout 2006 as the host of America’s Next Top Model and her talk show, The Tyra Banks Show. Time also named her one of the Top 100 Most Influential People -- an impressive feat for a retired supermodel.

As for her future plans, Tyra will continue to work on her two shows well into 2007. Moreover, her production company, Bankable Productions, is also developing new programs, including a sitcom, a one-hour drama series, a made-for-TV movie, and some other projects that are in early development. Tyra is also an aspiring singer who has already put out one single and is actively trying to release an album. In her private life, Tyra created the TZONE Foundation in 1999, which is a leadership and life-skills development program for disadvantaged teen girls in Los Angeles. Look for Tyra to take what precious little time she has to helping TZONE gear up for greater work in 2007.
