84 Hilary Duff

Hilary Duff was only in the business for a few years when she landed the life-changing role in Disney’s Lizzie McGuire. The program turned Hilary into a household name among adolescents, and it wasn’t long before the up-and-coming actress began appearing in more high-profile projects. She starred opposite Frankie Muniz in Agent Cody Banks (2003), played one of Steve Martin’s daughters in Cheaper by the Dozen (2003) and its sequel Cheaper by the Dozen 2 (2005), and she took on a leading role in The Perfect Man (2005) with Heather Locklear. Hilary is also a stand-out singer: She has three multi-platinum albums and a gold Christmas album. Her most recent album, Most Wanted, spent two weeks at the top of the U.S. charts.

Hilary’s only cinematic appearance in 2006 was in the comedy Material Girls, in which wealthy siblings learn to fend for themselves after their money is frozen. Though the film was a financial and critical bomb, Hilary did get to work with her real-life sister, Haylie. They also recorded a decent cover of Madonna’s song “Material Girl” for the film’s soundtrack. Hilary’s personal life didn’t fare quite as well, as her relationship to singer Joel Madden ended in November. Hilary has the face of an angel and a heart of gold, which was on display in Ontario, Canada, when she performed to raise money for a tsunami relief fund. Hilary debuted at No. 86 on AskMen.com’s list in 2006, and if she keeps up the good work we’re sure she’ll become a perennial favorite.

2007 is shaping up to be another busy year for Hilary. She’ll appear in Brand Hauser: Stuff Happens, a comedy that stars John Cusack, Ben Kingsley and Marisa Tomei. Hilary will also be lending her voice to the animated comedy Foodfight!, alongside Charlie Sheen, Eva Longoria, Haylie Duff, and Wayne Brady. Hilary is hard at work on her new album, which is rumored to be named Dignity and is expected to hit stores in April. The first single, “Play With Fire,” is already a hit, reaching No. 33 on the U.S. dance music charts.
