39 Katherine Heigl

Having started out as a child model, Katherine appeared in her first feature film, That Night (1992), at the age of 13. She's since been seen in King of the Hill (1993), My Father the Hero (1994), Under Siege 2: Dark Territory (1995), Bride of Chucky (1998), and The Ringer (2005). Heigl, however, is best-known for her work on television, where she played Isabel Evans on the WB's Roswell from 1999 to 2002, and Dr. Isobel Stevens on ABC's Grey's Anatomy since 2005.

Thanks in part to the success of Grey's Anatomy, Katherine has moved up our list this year, as the hit hospital drama has made her a regular TV fixture on Thursday nights. A special episode shown after the Super Bowl pulled in more than 38 million viewers last January, and Heigl was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress. Katherine also starred in a couple of indie features in 2006, including the thriller Zyzzyx Rd. with Tom Sizemore and the comedy Caffeine with Mena Suvari, though neither managed to attract much of an audience. In May, FHM selected her as the 19th Sexiest Woman in the World, while Maxim ranked her No. 12 on its Hot 100 List.

As for 2007, in addition to her TV work, Katherine has replaced Anne Hathaway of The Devil Wears Prada fame to star in the movie Knocked Up, a comedy that is set for release this summer. On the personal front, she could be taking the big walk down the aisle sometime this year, as she and singer Josh Kelley announced their engagement in June 2006.
