Isla Fisher is a fresh-faced Australian-raised actress and author of two best-selling books. She is best-known for her work in the Aussie soap opera Home and Away, in which she played Shannon Reed from 1994 to 1997. In the States, Isla gained popularity by appearing in Scooby-Doo (2002), I Heart Huckabees (2004), Wedding Crashers (2005), and the indie film London (2005). Isla is also engaged to the infamous Sacha Baron Cohen.

Isla fell off the entertainment radar in 2006, as she only appeared in The Pleasure of Your Company. In her personal life, however, Isla was quite busy: She spent much of 2006 studying Judaism in order to convert to be able to marry her fiancé, Sacha Baron Cohen, star of Da Ali G Show and the acclaimed Borat (2006). This is Isla’s first time on the Top 99, but with roles in films like I Heart Huckabees and Wedding Crashers under her belt, she’s off to a good start at No. 68. It doesn’t hurt to be engaged to a popular funnyman as well.

Isla is set to take 2007 by storm with four films lined up. She will appear in The Lookout, Definitely, Maybe with Rachel Weisz, Hot Rod with Sissy Spacek, and Groupies. Although the films mostly feature other up-and-coming talents, Isla is certainly making herself prominent in the public eye. And with a marriage on the way, it looks like both her career and personal life are on a high.
